    Name

    Tony Whitter

    Bio

Tony Whitter has worked as a software developer, consultant and trainer for nearly 30 years, providing solutions and advice to a wide variety of organisations and industries. He first started programming in 1975 on mini-computers, moved to mainframes in 1980, and on to PCs in 1984. After founding a technology company in the early 1980's, his extensive experience includes four years as the Head of Technology for a quoted multinational software corporation. He now runs his own software development and consultancy firm specialising in the Microsoft .NET platform.

Tony has been using .NET since the PDC Technical Preview release in 2000, and has since developed a number of enterprise level systems using Visual Studio .NET, the first of which shipped in 2001 under the terms of the Go Live Licence for Beta 2. He continues to use Visual Studio .NET extensively on a daily basis and consequently has a wealth of relevant knowledge and experience to draw on. More recently, Tony has authored a popular series of .NET training courses, trained numerous developers in .NET technologies, spoken at major international .NET conferences and is currently presenting on Microsoft's European Smart Client Tour.

As for musical tastes, Tony is definitely in the heavy rock camp, both classic and contemporary. His all time favourite album is Long Live Rock 'n' Roll by Rainbow.
